About Christine
Finding Meaning in Jewelry
It all began with a silver key charm years ago. Christine wore it everywhere and always added it to the bracelets, necklaces and other pieces she wore. Family and friends came to expect seeing the silver key when they saw Christine. And, unbeknownst to her at the time, it was symbolic of more than she realized.
She knew she had all the tools to find happiness and success, but struggled to put the pieces together. When she finally founded her jewelry design business, she discovered that this was her key to so much more. Her business allowed Christine to embrace her creative self, combine her business expertise, and find that joy and challenge she was searching for.
For Christine, the jewelry she wears and designs is a true expression of who she is and where she is in her life’s journey. Her joy and satisfaction come from helping others find that connection and meaning with their own jewelry pieces and collections.
All in the Family
However, while deciding to become a jewelry designer was a surprise to her, this skill is certainly in her blood and was a huge part of her identity from an early age.
Christine’s family, with strong roots and ties throughout North Carolina, is filled with many, long-standing creative makers – pottery, photography, painters, jewelry, and so on. Her grandfather owned a jewelry store in Winston-Salem Her mom grew up in that jewelry store and then married a jewelry hobbyist, Christine’s dad, who decided to open a jewelry store in Reidsville, NC years later. As a result, she and her brother spent many hours during their youth in the store and became immersed in the family business. Her brother, now a fine jewelry designer, owns a jewelry store in North Wilkesboro.
Yet, even with all of the signs pointing her in that direction, Christine went off to college, sold software, and dabbled in creative pursuits: pottery, painting, and crafts.
One day her stepfather, also a jewelry salesman, gave her some pearls and encouraged her to create something. She created a three-piece collection and sold it at his tradeshow booth instantly. That was the catalyst for where she is today and the 'key' that unlocked her future. Since that moment, she hasn’t looked back and established her on workshop in Raleigh.
